SENIOR CLASS HISTORY

We walked through those long awaited doors with feelings we could not express.  At first we were scared, but were to adjust rapidly to the pushlines in the lunchroom, to the extra-curricular activities.  Wow!  There were so many people!  You might say we were "taking it to the streets" since most of us had just gotten our driving licenses.  Our freshman float finished last during Homecoming, but at least we tried.  We thought it was dynamite, but apparently the judges thought different.  The freshman class officers were Jack Stokes, president; Anthony Knight, vice-president; Scott Graviet, secretary; and Frank Proctor, treasurer.  Our advisors were Mr. Pagoaga and Mr. Paguegui.

As sophomores we were filled with feelings of "movin' on up the road."  We elected class officers who included Barbara Elliott, president; Gary Welch, vice-president; Scott Graviet, secretary, and Frank Proctor, treasurer.  Our advisors were Mr. Pagoaga and Mr. Noble, who took Mr. Paguegui's place.  we soon began preparing for our "soon to be successful" junior-senior prom by selling candy as our first money making project.

Our junior year came rolling right along with all its trimmings.  Our junior class officers were Jack Stokes, president; Mike Joyce, vice-president; Sonja Maxwell, secretary; and Gary Welch, treasurer.  Our advisors were Mr. Pagoaga and Mr. Noble.  Homecoming rolled around with the "mighty juniors" taking first place in the float contest.  The junior girls were just barely defeated by one touchdown in a game of powderpuff football with the senior girls.  We sold magazine subscriptions to raise more money for our prom which was held on April 26th with the theme of "reflections."  It was considered to be the most successful prom.

Our senior year came around sooner than we expected.  Before we knew it, we were ordering announcements and having senior pictures taken.  Our senior class officers were Jack Stokes, president; Shelley Bright, vice-president; Soron Root, secretary; and Keith Butler, treasurer.  Our advisors were Mr. Person and Mr. Schiller.  During Homecoming the senior girls defeated the junior girls 20-6 in a game of powderpuff football.  Eventually we got a touch of "senioritis," so on February 2 we staged our traditional senior skip, which gave most of the seniors a much needed break from the everyday hassle of government and other classes.  May 31 got closer and closer, until finally the big day came--graduation!  We made it!  With smiling faces we received our diplomas which were even signed!  After many heart-warming congratulations from friends and relatives, not to mention a few tears, we turned to face the future.  Considering the success of our school experiences over the past twelve years, its no wonder some philosopher once suggested, "Life is a mystery to be lived, not a problem to be solved."  Let's hope we really believe that!
